What that changes here
Under broadleaf trees an ordinary gutter turns into a planter in two autumns. We fit continuous leaf guards rather than just balloon gratings, and often add a downpipe to avoid the long runs that block at the first bend.

In most cases it is undersized, or it serves too much area for a single downpipe. A good Belgian downpour delivers more water than a standard gutter can carry away. The fix is rarely to replace everything: an extra downpipe and resized outlets are usually enough.
