Services

Cleaning & moss removal

Moss removal by hand, brushing, anti-moss treatment and low-pressure rinsing.

What this covers

Belgium is just about the ideal place to grow moss on a roof: permanent damp, mild temperatures, little sun on the north slope. The problem is not a cosmetic one. Moss holds water against the tile, works its way under the overlap and freezes in winter — and it is that freezing that cracks the tiles and works the clips loose.

  • Inspection first: a roof that is too fragile is not cleaned, it is renewed
  • Brushing by hand and low-pressure rinsing, from the ridge down to the eaves
  • Slow-acting anti-moss treatment, with no run-off into the garden
  • Gutters, valleys and downpipes cleared completely
  • Broken tiles found during the work replaced
  • Before and after photo report handed over at the end of the job

Low pressure only: the moss comes off, the tile stays

Cleaning & moss removal — workmanship detail

On site

Seen up close

A roof is judged on its details: the junctions, the overlaps, the penetrations. This is the point of workmanship that, on this service, makes the difference between a roof that lasts ten years and one that lasts thirty.

Common questions

Cleaning & moss removal

A question that is not on the list? Ask it over the phone, the answer is free too.

Every four to six years for an open roof, every two to three years if it is shaded by trees or faces north. Under broadleaf trees, the build-up of leaves counts as much as the moss: it is the leaves that block the valleys and send water under the covering.
