Asbestos removal

Services

Asbestos removal

Removal of asbestos fibre cement sheets and roofs, with traceable disposal.

What this covers

Corrugated fibre cement sheets laid before 2001 almost always contain asbestos in Belgium. As long as they are intact and left alone they pose no immediate danger; the risk appears as soon as they are broken, drilled or cleaned at high pressure. That is precisely why pressure washing a fibre cement roof is a very bad idea: it releases fibres.

  • Assessment first, sampling and analysis if in doubt
  • Method statement, cordoning and containment of the area
  • Taken down sheet by sheet: no breaking, no drilling, no cutting
  • Packed in sealed and labelled big bags
  • Disposal through a licensed channel, with certificate and weighbridge ticket
  • A new covering laid straight afterwards if you wish

Seen up close

A roof is judged on its details: the junctions, the overlaps, the penetrations. This is the point of workmanship that, on this service, makes the difference between a roof that lasts ten years and one that lasts thirty.

Common questions

Asbestos removal

A question that is not on the list? Ask it over the phone, the answer is free too.

The most reliable criterion is the date: corrugated fibre cement sheets laid before 2001 almost always contain it. If in doubt, a laboratory analysis settles the question. In the meantime, do not scrape, break or pressure wash these sheets.
