Eastern periphery & grape region

On the eastern side of the periphery the built-up area runs right up to the Sonian Forest. That means older materials, longer slopes and access that is never straightforward.

Kraainem and Wezembeek-Oppem stand out for their materials: where the rest of the periphery carries concrete tile, here you find a lot of natural slate and small interwar clay tiles. They call for a different hand — and pressure washing is rarely a good idea here.

In Overijse and the grape region the houses sit on a slope, on the edge of the forest. Long slopes, permanent shade on the north side, valleys that fill up every autumn. We plan these jobs with access as the first question: a curving drive often decides between a cherry picker and a scaffold.

Leuven adds the urban side: a historic centre, a great many subdivided buildings, and at the back a forest of flat roofs over extensions that are rarely maintained.

What keeps us busiest here

Slates and old tiles
Cleaning by hand or at low pressure, repair hook by hook. High pressure on a fragile tile guarantees damage.
Annual maintenance
Gutters and valleys cleared and flushed before winter — better value here than anywhere else.
Access and scaffolding
Slopes, bends and gardens running down to the woods: access is looked at on the first visit, not afterwards.
