Technically we watch above all the airtightness around the dormer and the junction against the party wall: those are the two places where damp comes back.

For a pitched roof, aim for 18 to 24 cm of mineral wool or PIR depending on the material, to meet the requirements in force. In an existing roof structure the space between rafters is limited: you then add a second layer under the rafters, crossing the joints.
